Balloon Volleyball

Balloon Volleyball
Balloon Volleyball
Setting: inside: either in a living room, den or desk area at work.

Ingredients:
Balloon
Chair
Weights (if desired)

Instructions:
 Blow up a balloon.
While seating have two people hit it back and forth to one another without letting it drop to the ground.
See how long it can go without stopping.
This activity can be done outside of chairs while standing as well.

Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to complete a task of not allowing the balloon to touch the ground. Standing helps create balance with the individual while sitting in the activity may be helpful to those who have trouble with balance. Sitting helps use the body bilaterally and not only to the dominant side. It also encourages range of motion of the upper extremity to reach up and hit the balloon before it falls and gross motor control is exercised in order to move to where the balloon is going. This activity also encourages social interaction since while you can do this by yourself it is more fun to do so with others.
