Bean Bag Flip


Bean Bag Flip
Flipping Beanbags for Wrist Strengthening
Setting: at home or in the kitchen where there is a flat surface

Materials:
Mini Spatula
3 Beanbags
Colored Stickers

Instructions:
 Place a sticker on one side of each of the beanbags.
 Take three beanbags and line them up on a hard surface.
 Using the mini spatula work on flipping the beanbags.

Purpose: The purpose of this activity is to work on strengthening of hand muscles and increase range of motion of the upper extremity specifically the individual’s wrist. The sticker on each of the beanbags is used in order to ensure that the individual actually flipped each of the beanbags. Grasp is exercised in the grasp of the spatula while flipping. Ability to follow directions and completion of a task is also emphasized in this type of exercise in order to increase self-esteem and attention.
